AliPlugin is a plugin for WordPress, so at a minimum, you’ll need a domain name, a hosting account and an installation of WordPress. At present, AliPlugin sells for $47, which is a reasonable price for a complete ecommerce system. You’ll also need to register at AliExpress to join their affiliate program, as that’s where you are going to earn your money. Your store will have products from AliExpress listed as though they were your own, but AliExpress will actually do the shipping and handle the transaction for you, making this a virtually hands off experience.
It just takes a minute to install AliPlugin, and then you’ll be able to configure it. AliPlugin will ask for your AliExpress credentials, and then you can start to build your store.
AliPlugin includes several high-quality WordPress themes, which will allow you to create a ecommerce site that looks as good as anything else out there. You can easily customize the appearance to suit your own taste.
AliPlugin allows you to select from the vast array of products and categories at AliExpress, so you can offer general merchandise or you can build a niche store that focuses on just specific types of merchandise. If you want, for example, to concentrate on consumer electronics or women’s dresses, you can do that. You can also pick and choose products for your store using a variety of criteria – pricing, commission rate, popularity, or you can choose your merchandise based on a list of keywords that you provide.

The nice thing about AliPlugin is that it’s a great alternative to the other plugins out there that work with Amazon and eBay. There’s nothing wrong with those two retailers (full disclosure; I’m an affiliate of both) but AliExpress is fairly new to the game in the Western Hemisphere and getting in early might give you a head start on the competition. Plus, you’ll likely have merchandise that the other retailers don’t have, and that’s always a plus.
AliPlugin sounds great, so should you buy it? That depends. It’s a great product, and AliPlugin creates a terrific looking Website that should be able to make money for you. However, you need to be aware that the ecommerce market is fiercely competitive. Not only that, but the major search engines, Google and Bing, aren’t all that crazy about ecommerce Websites that are built around affiliate programs.
Google will see your site, crawl it, and will likely determine that you’re actually just an affiliate sending traffic to AliExpress. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but if you use AliPlugin straight out of the box and don’t make any modifications, you’re going to have a lot of trouble getting traffic to the site, because Google isn’t all that likely to put your site in their index, as they’ll think that people should just go to AliExpress instead.
What does this mean? It means that in order to get AliPlugin to work and make money for you, you’re going to have to do additional work beyond what AliPlugin does for you right out of the box. You’re going to have to promote your site like crazy using social media, for example. You might also want to promote it using paid advertising, such as Bing Ads or Google Adwords.
Something else that can help a lot is to add a lot, and I mean a lot, of original content to your site. While Google doesn’t like affiliate sites, the do like original content, and if you can add some good long-form (1000 words or more) content to your site that provides value to your sites visitors and is keyword-rich, you should be able to do OK with the AliPlugin.
Keep in mind, too, that you don’t have to build a store, with AliPlugin. You can build two. Or five. Or a hundred. That’s up to you, but all of the above applies – each of those sites is going to have to have a lot of content and a lot of links pointing to it from elsewhere in order to work. If you’re willing to work at it, and you’re willing to consider that building a great ecommerce site using AliPlugin is your job, then you can be successful with it.
AliExpress is a huge company with a lot of great products to offer. AliPlugin gives you a great opportunity to join that team and offer the public an attractive, unique ecommerce store stocked with hundreds or even thousands of products of your choosing, in any niche you like. The stores look great, the plugin works well, and if you put in the effort, the potential is there to make a lot of money with it.
