Make Money Online – Lots of Ways to Do It
Lots of people are looking for ways to make money online, but don’t know how to go about it. A lot of them don’t even understand the mechanisms at work, and if you don’t understand how the money is made, then you’re not likely to know how to go about making that happen. While it isn’t easy to get started conducting online business, tens of thousands of people have been successful, and there’s no reason why you can’t join them.
A lot of people might think that the only way to make money online is to open an ecommerce store and sell things. That certainly works, and online retailing is booming these days. Programs like Shopify make it easy to create your own online storefront and you can have a store up and running in just a couple of hours if you put your mind to it. If retailing isn’t your thing, then don’t worry; there are lots of other ways to make money online, as we’ll show you in the coming paragraphs.
Make Money Online 10 Different Ways
Here’s a list of a few ways that you can legitimately make money online:
Freelance work – If you have some sort of marketable skill, like the ability to write articles, write software code, translate between two or more languages, or create custom graphics, there are a number of ways to turn that into cash. Sites such as Elance or Fiverr or Odesk allow you to offer your services for sale to the public, and you can decide for yourself how much money you’d like to charge for your work.
Affiliate marketing – This one’s our favorite; you’re basically recommending other people’s products and offering a link to the site where they can buy them. That special link contains code that refers to you specifically, and when someone clicks your link and buys, you’ll earn a commission. There are people who earn six figure incomes through affiliate marketing, and it’s a multi billion dollar industry. If you want to make money online through affiliate marketing, you can do this by promoting products from Clickbank, Amazon, eBay and thousands of other companies.
CPA Marketing – CPA, or cost per action, is similar to affiliate marketing in that you receive a commission or a flat fee when someone clicks your special link and performs some action. The nice thing about CPA is that the customer doesn’t necessarily have to spend money for you to get paid. Sometimes, they just need to do something as simple as provide their email address or request an insurance quote. It’s a bit more difficult to be accepted by CPA networks as an affiliate than it is with the affiliate companies above, but it’s not all that hard. Companies such as CJ, Maxbounty, or Peerfly are among the larger companies in the CPA industry.
Retail sales – Yes, retail is still strong. You can build your own Website and sell goods directly using software such as Shopify or WooCommerce, or you can sell through Amazon or eBay. If you create your own crafts or similar products, you can sell them via Etsy. Cafe Press or Spread Shirt are great places to sell T-shirt designs, as is TeeSpring.
Revenue sharing – This is a model where you help someone make money online and they share the profits with you. A good example of this would be posting videos to YouTube. There are people who do this whose videos receive thousands of views, and YouTube earns ad revenue that they share with the people who posted the videos. You can also earn shared revenue through sites such as Squidoo and Hubpages. We haven’t had a lot of success with these platforms ourselves, but we know of a number of people who have, especially with YouTube.
Video Marketing – A variation on the above (or in combination with it) would be to use sites such as YouTube to make people aware of products you’re selling elsewhere. These could be affiliate marketing products, or CPA offers or even items you’re selling through your own Website. Sites such as YouTube, Vimeo or Instructables are great places to upload videos that you can use to persuade people to buy products that you have to offer.
Site Flipping – Buying domain names or existing Websites and reselling them is a multimillion dollar business. Sites such as Flippa or Sedo make it easy to list a domain name for sale and sometimes domains that you bought for just a few dollars can sell for thousands. We recently reviewed a terrific course about site flipping, and this is a method of making money that’s working well for thousands of people. If you’re looking for something different and you have an interest in figures and statistics, site flipping can be a great way to make money online.
Blogging – Have some interesting things to say? Start a blog! If you post content regularly and link to your updates from social media sites, you can generate hundreds or even thousands of visits a day to your site. Then you can put ads on your blog from Google Adsense or CPA offers or banners for Clickbank products in order to make money online from your blog. If you enjoy writing, blogging is a great way to make money online. You know it works; after all, you’re here reading this blog, right? Why not start a blog of your own?
Answering questions – If you can answer questions, you can make money online through sites such as LivePerson, JustAnswer or WebAnswers. You’re not likely to get rich, but you’ll be helping people and you might learn a lot, too.
Pay Per Click – This is more about a method of making money with CPA marketing, retail sales or affiliate marketing, but Pay Per Click, or PPC, is a way of paying the search engines to send visitors to your Website. You purchase simple ads that appear when people use the search engine, and if someone clicks on your ad to visit your site, you pay Bing or Google a small fee. It’s the fastest way to get traffic to your Website so you can start making money, and you can actually get traffic this way within a few hours.
