News Own Review – Fast, Easy Cash?
I’m kind of excited about this review, as I thought all of these “get paid to read news” Websites were done. I’ve reviewed a few of them in the past, and they always generate a lot of interest. And why not? These sites offer to pay you in cash to read short news articles. The more you read, the more you get paid, and they’ve even got a lucrative affiliate program so that you can earn even more.
According to the News Own Website, you can earn $1225 per week just reading news articles, but if you can persuade a lot of your friends and/or family to sign up and do the same, your earnings potential is limitless. Pretty cool, considering that you won’t spend more than ten minutes a day on the site. As usual, when something like News Own pops up, I”ll check it out and see if it’s for real. Read on for the full News Own review.
News Own Overview
The News Own Website looks a lot like the other sites I’ve reviewed, and the artwork, site design and site navigation is pretty much identical to what we’ve seen before at sites like All News Round. You can sign up for free, and you don’t even have to confirm your registration. Just give them an email address and a password and you’re all signed up and logged in.
To get paid, the News Own site says you’ll have to provide them with your PayPal or Payza credentials, and you’ll need to have $7000 in your account to get a payout. That sounds like a lot of money, but you can get your balance up to $7000 quite quickly by reading news articles and talking your friends into signing up with News Own.
To read a news article, just click the “Read News” link at the top of the page. You’ll have a list of ten articles from which to choose. Next to the article title, you’ll see the time the article was added to the site and the amount of money you can earn for reading the article. When I last checked, every article showed a payout of $7, though the site claims that the payout can range from $5 to $9 per article.
To read an article, just click on the headline. You’ll be taken to a new page where you’ll see the “full” article, which is usually just a single sentence. When you’re done reading, just click the “confirm” button and you’ll be asked to complete a simple math problem to prove that you’re a human. Once you’ve done that, you’ll have $5, $7, or $9 added to your News Own account balance.
News Own says you can read up to 35 articles per day. At $7 per article, that works out to $175 daily, or $1225 per week of you visit the site every day. Given that it only takes about 10 seconds to read an article, you won’t have to spend a whole lot of time reading to get your balance moving up in a hurry.
The News Own affiliate program says that you can increase your earnings dramatically by referring friends and family members to the site. When you sign up with News Own, you receive a special link. If you share that link with friends and family members on social media, and they use it to visit News Own and sign up, you’ll receive a $150 bonus for every signup. In addition, you’ll also receive 20% of the amount of money that each of your referrals earns. If someone reads 35 articles per day, they’ll earn $175 and you will earn $35 without doing any work. The News Own site says you can earn upwards of $2500 per week this way.
Using News Own is fast and easy and you can see that it’s really possible to get thousands of dollars in your News Own balance every week without doing much in the way of work. So what’s the catch? There must be one, right?
There is a catch. There’s always a catch, and with News Own, it works like this: You won’t get paid. Period.
I could stop the review right there, but I’ll go on. The News Own domain name is registered in Russia, just like the dozens of other sites that are similar to this one. I’ve reviewed quite a number of these sites, and I’ve registered with a few of them and I’ve yet to hear of anyone getting paid by any of them. One one site, the minimum payout amount was $500, so I spent a few days earning that much and requested a payout. It’s been over a year, and I’ve yet to see anything.
So if News Own isn’t going to pay you, then what are they doing? It could be one of several things:
- They’re harvesting email addresses so they can either send you spam directly, or they’re selling the email addresses to someone else so that they can send spam to you instead. If you sign up with News Own, you’re likely to see even more junk in your inbox than you have in the past.
- They’re stealing PayPal and Payza credentials. News Own says they pay via those two methods, and they ask you to provide your credentials for one of those services so they can pay you. They won’t pay you, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t use your credentials to try to hack into your account. Most people use poor passwords, and if News Own signs up thousands of people per week, they’re likely to crack at least a few accounts.
News Own Conclusion
News Own isn’t really any different from the many other sites that this company owns. I did a reverse IP lookup and found seven other sites that were identical to News Own on the same IP address. Most were in languages other than English, so the company is clearly targeting a global audience.
While it’s easy to rack up a huge balance in your News Own account, you’re largely wasting your time in doing so. Their news articles aren’t particularly informative, and there are no links to the full article. Finally, of course, there’s the simple fact that News Own isn’t going to pay you.
If you’re interested in really finding a way to make money online, there are better ways to do it than by wasting your time at News Own.
