SellHealth Review – Profit in Health Products?
Note: We have no relationship with SellHealth
When you’re making the decision to earn money in affiliate marketing, the kind of product that you choose to promote makes a huge difference in the amount of money you’re going to earn. After all, if you elect to promote a product that isn’t popular, it’s going to be hard to make money with it. SellHealth is an affiliate program that offers tremendous commissions to their affiliates. But is SellHealth a scam? Are their products worth promoting? Read on for our full SellHealth review.
The health and wellness niche is a popular one, and it can be a good way to make money online. SellHealth specializes in that niche, and they offer a variety of products including those related to skin care, weight loss, anti-aging, hair growth and more. By joining SellHealth, you’ll be an affiliate and you’ll help promote their products.
SellHealth has been doing business under that name since 2007; prior to that, they were known as Leading Edge Cash. It’s free to join the SellHealth affiliate program, though you do have to apply and be accepted before you can start promoting their products. Once you’re accepted, you’ll have access to a number of tools, graphics, banners and more that you can use to promote SellHealth products. The sales are actually made at company-owned Websites, which look professional and handle all of the selling.
Commissions vary, but the base rate is 30% of all sales and upsells, and SellHealth says you can earn up to $350 per sale. If you can move a lot of product, commissions of 40% or even 50% are possible, though the company’s literature is not particularly specific about what triggers the higher commissions. Still, big commissions seem plausible, as many of their products are quite expensive. Even better – if you can recruit other affiliates to promote SellHealth products, you can earn 5% of what they earn, which could be potentially lucrative if you have the ability to find and recruit effective affiliate marketers.
That’s it in a nutshell – You join the SellHealth program, find products in their product line to promote, and persuade people to buy them. If they do, you can earn a decent amount of money this way. So, what’s not to like about SellHealth?
Some of what I have to say here applies to the industry as a whole and some to SellHealth specifically. Specifically, SellHealth has a terrible reputation for customer service and for communication with their affiliates. They’re known to not answer email messages for days, or even at all. They do, however, have a reputation for paying their affiliates, so you don’t need to be concerned about that.
The other issues are more industry-specific. A number of the products that SellHealth sells are medically and scientifically questionable. We’re talking about products such as “male enhancement” or “male menopause” products, as well as “HGH releasers”, which are sold as antiaging products.
These sorts of health supplements are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, nor are they subject to that agency’s scrutiny. That means that there’s a good chance that these products are scams, and you’re going to have unhappy customers if they buy them and the products don’t work. I know what you’re thinking – “People won’t complain to me; I’m sending them to the company’s site and they’re buying the products there. I’m just the affiliate.” Trust me; if people click on a link on your site and have an issue with either the company or the product, they will contact you asking you to fix it. I’ve promoted health products in the past that came with automatic subscriptions when people made their purchases, and I received countless email messages demanding that I stop charging their credit cards. Which, of course, I wasn’t doing.
Refunds on SellHealth products do not include shipping charges, and the shipping charges on the company’s products are substantial. They’re making money even on products that are returned for a refund. You, of course, will lose your commission on such returns, but the company still makes money. All of the products that SellHealth sells require that the buyer (and the affiliate) agree to an arbitration agreement, which says, in part, that the company pretty much doesn’t guarantee that any of their products actually work.
The official SellHealth Website has a contact form, but no information whatsoever about where the company is located. The site registration is private. The sales pages for their products indicate that credit card processing for their sales is based in the tiny island of Nevis, Cyprus, Panama, or possibly Canada.
And finally, if you’ve decided that you’re OK with all of the above, there’s another issue to consider. The market for health supplements is brutally competitive. It’s very easy to have your own products manufactured, and many people do create “private label” health products. Because of this, it’s possible to buy the sorts of products that SellHealth sells at prices that are substantially lower than what SellHealth is asking. If you pick out any of the products on their Website and do a search for similar products, you’re going to find thousands of products for sale, often at prices that are virtually free. This, along with the tremendous competition, can make it really difficult to make money promoting the sorts of products that SellHealth has to offer.
Can you make money with SellHealth? Sure, if you have the ability to drive a tremendous amount of traffic to a health products Website. Experienced marketers may be able to do this, but if you’re a newbie, forget about it. Competition is fierce, paid advertising options are limited (Google doesn’t like those kinds of products) and you’re likely to spend a lot of time trying to sell products that are, for the most part, scientifically suspect. Is SellHealth a scam? No, but it does not, in my opinion, represent a good moneymaking opportunity for most marketers, and certainly not for beginners. Rather than jump in and take your chances with SellHealth, why not join Wealthy Affiliate? Wealthy Affiliate is a training program that can show you how to build Websites, find profitable products to promote, and do it in a way that will allow you to actually make money. You’ll have access to a free 10 module affiliate marketing course, and you’ll have training videos to show you the way. It’s a great way to get started making money online. You can even sign up for free and “earn while you learn.”
While it is possible to make money with it, SellHealth is not recommended for 99% of affiliate marketers.
