There are lots of ways to make money online, and one of the easiest and the most popular is to provide information in the form of downloadable products. You don’t have to store them, pack them or ship them, and the buyers can receive their product as soon as they complete the payment for it. Of course, creating video courses, PDF book and such takes a lot of time and effort and that’s why a lot of marketers prefer to make money with Clickbank instead.
With Clickbank, you’ll be able to make money from information products, training courses, books, videos and more without having to create the product, package the product or ship the product. That’s all done by other people, and Clickbank will handle the transactions, payment issues and even refunds, if necessary. All you have to do is sign up, find a product to recommend to your site visitors and collect commissions of up to 75% of the sales price. A lot of affiliate marketers make money with Clickbank, and if you’re new to Internet marketing, it’s a great place to start.
Clickbank Trap – Set Your Payment Threshold Correctly
I’ve written quite a lot about using Clickbank as a source for finding products to promote through affiliate marketing. There’s a lot to like about Clickbank; they offer encryption of your affiliate links, they offer decent analytics, and they offer a wide variety of products to promote in a broad range of market niches. If you do your research properly, you can find a lot of profitable products to promote there. You do, however, have to keep an eye on Clickbank fees or you can easily find yourself paying out a lot of money in commissions right back to the company. You don’t want that, obviously, but unless you’re paying attention, that’s exactly what will happen.
Clickbank primarily makes their money by taking a percentage of the sale of each item sold. For most products, that fee is about 7.5% of the sales price. The remainder of the sales price is divided between the product vendor and the affiliate who made the sale, if applicable. The percentage paid to the affiliate is determined by the vendor, with minimum and maximum amounts set by Clickbank. You’d think that it ends there, but actually, there’s one other way that Clickbank makes money, and they earn it from lazy affiliates who aren’t paying attention to their account settings. If you don’t set up your affiliate account correctly, you may find yourself earning commissions for sales and then paying them back to the company before you even receive them!
Internet marketing in general, and affiliate marketing in particular, are popular ways of making money online. There are lots of ways to do it, but some work better than others. There are, however, some tried-and-true methods for making money online that do work, have always worked, and will likely continue to work for the foreseeable future.
The problem is that a lot of would-be Internet marketers tend to overlook the obvious things that do work, because they’re not fancy and they aren’t fast, and they tend to take a lot of time to work. Instead of working with those methods that are proven to work, they try to get rich quickly by following every new “shiny object” that pops up in the marketplace.
I’ve written a lot about affiliate marketing, and how it can present a great opportunity to work online from home. People are always looking for validation before they purchase anything, and finding a Website or blog that recommends a product they’re already interested in can help them make a decision to buy. In the meantime, if you’ve recommended a place to buy that product and provided them with a link with which they can make their purchase, you can profit from helping someone make their buying decision.
Of course, it can be tedious trying to earn money this way if you’re selling relatively inexpensive items. Lots of people decide to promote products that are commodities, such as DVDs or video games, and while these products are big sellers, they don’t pay a whole lot of money on a per sale basis. If you’re an Amazon affiliate, for instance, that 4% commission from the sale of a $10 DVD is only going to amount to about 40¢ for your work. While cash is cash, you should be asking yourself, “Can I do better?” Of course you can, and the answer is high ticket products.
This may come as a shock to a lot of people, but in many ways, it’s easier making money online than it has ever been before. Sure, the search engines have gotten a lot more particular about what they’ll put in their indexes and where they’ll rank sites that are built to make money online, but that’s one of the few areas in the making money online niche that has suffered over the years. In a lot of other ways, things are much simpler than they’ve ever been, and new developments make it easier to work online from home than ever before.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m not suggesting that it’s necessarily easymaking money online. It’s work, just as it would be to do anything else for a living. These days, however, a lot of tasks that used to be quite difficult are now simple enough that even a novice can tackle them. The great thing about this is that it’s not possible for just about anyone to engage in Internet marketing, where it was once an area that was pretty much limited to those with advanced technical or computer skills. In addition, the costs of many things related to making money online have dropped over the years, lowering the barriers to entry and making it easier for people with modest amounts of money to invest to get started creating an online business.
